The LCA2014 Multimedia and Music miniconf is being proposed by Jonathan Woithe and Silvia Pfeiffer.

Jonathan has been contributing to various open source audio and video software for about 13 years. He is currently a primary developer for the FFADO project, responsible for the MOTU and RME drivers which allow Linux users to utilise these firewire audio interfaces. Jonathan has presented talks at LCA about FFADO technical issues (2009), Firewire protocol analysis (2011) and high speed data acquisition (2013). He gave a FFADO tutorial at LCA Multimedia 2009, discussed AV synchronisation at LCA Multimedia 2010 and introduced tttrigger at LCA Multimedia 2013. He was the primary organiser of the 2011, 2012 and 2013 LCA Multimedia and Music miniconfs.

Silvia has a long history of working on open media technologies through Annodex, Xiph, and more recently Mozilla and Google with the HTML5 video element and accessibility. She has contributed to W3C standards, and is a recent WebKit contributor. She has helped organise the LCA Multimedia miniconf in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, the LCA Digital Arts miniconf in 2006, and was an organiser of the Foundations of Open Media Software (FOMS) developer workshop in 2007, 2008, 2009, the two in 2010, and the FOMS track at OVC 2011. Silvia wrote the "Definitive Guide to HTML5 Video" in 2010.
