1. President's report 2006
The 2006 president Jeff Waugh was unable to make it to the meeting and sends his apologies (LCA organisation). The 2006 vice president Conrad Parker delivered the report in his place.
The main activity of this year was incorporation due to legal requirements we were unable to keep the name Annodex Foundation in NSW. We were incorporated as the Annodex Association with the NSW Dept of Fair Trading on November 22nd 2006 and we are now operating as such.
Activities that the association was involved with this year include sponsorship of the recent FOMS workshop in Sydney and the sponsorship of the OpenRoadTrip site.
An upcoming challenge is the requirement to move hosting away from our current facilities at CSIRO Australia by June 2007.
And in line with the independent activity of the association, we are negotiating with CSIRO for transfer of ownership of the open source annodex reference implementation, and the Annodex trademark.
Ongoing activities and focus for the future should include the creation of closer ties with Mozilla, Wikipedia foundation and Creative Commons.
In short: the last year was the year of our incorporation and setting directions, as well as forging relationships with other parties which have put us in good stead for future work.
President's report was accepted without objections.
2. Treasurer's report 2006
We now have a bank account setup with St George Bank. Its current value is zero. However there are several outstanding invoices relating to FOMS sponsorships and so on totalling:
INCOMING
A$7306 Sponsorship A$2940 Attendees - ---------------------------------------------- SUM: $10246
So far Silvia has paid out the following from her own pocket and will need to be reimbursed:
EXPENSES
A$2306.00 Michael Dale's Trip EURO 1402.82 Holger Levsen's Trip (A$2,355.09) GBP 760.61 James Courtier-Dutton Trip (A$1,901.60) US$ 2438.00 Timothy Terriberry (A$3,089.68) - ---------------------------------------------- SUM: $9652.37
This leaves us with a total of $593.63. This is not counting any incidental costs which may be incurred in running the conference.
So in conclusion we're going to be starting the new year with an actual bank balance, which is always a good thing.
With regards to GST I do not believe we are liable as yet as we haven't hit the $50,000 per year income threshold. I am also investigating our responsibilities with regards to income tax as well.
Treasurer's report was accepted without objections.
3. Election of 2007 Annodex Association committee
Since connectivity was very patchy during the meeting, it was impossible to hold an election. It was decided to move the election out of this meeting and finalize the AGM during the coming weeks.
For technical reasons, the election was delayed and held online later on the 4th February. Here are the election results.
