1. Approval of last meeting minutes

2. Action items review

  • Shane: email external server contact points
    • only ORT, SLUG and Conrad need to be contacted, and all have been.
  • Shane: try to extract membership list from member_man's db, and set up a manual list
    • not yet
  • Silvia: Chase up and report on DGR process
    • not yet
  • James: move member_man to sqlite
    • not yet
  • Silvia: Arrange meeting with CSIRO about hand-over of trademark, documents and source code
    • CSIRO is being unresponsive on this
  • Silvia, Shane: have a conversation with rillian about remaining annodex services
    • done, moving on this
  • all to explore closer relationship with Xiph.org, e.g. shared branding
    • delay to FOMS08
  • James: to give improvement of Annodex wikipedia page a go
    • not yet

3. Treasurer's report

  • $94 in bank - at $10 a month account fees that gives us 9 more months

4. Servers & Systems

  • remaining issues are www.annodex.net, www.annodex.org, cmmlwiki, validator.annodex.net
  • waiting for xen servers from OSU OSL

ACTION: Ginger to contact Rillian about xen servers

5. Activities

  • liboggplay is gathering an active community
    • Silvia is trying to maintain API compatability within VQuence
    • MDale doing the same for VLC and Cortado
    • we should share the draft API around some more, get widespread agreement (also with HTML5)
  • sponsorship - need to find some sources
    • Mozilla foundation - maybe through them funding developers to go to FOMS?
    • Wikipedia? But they don't have much spare funding
  • Getting CmmlWiki functionality into MediaWiki
    • Michael Dale working with Mediawiki people on this
  • FOMS
    • need an organising committee really soon (CFP, sponsorship leaflet, set up website)
  • Conrad went to xtech conference
    • presented some ideas around CMMLWiki
    • lots of interest in Theora
    • BBC and Nokia research labs also showed interest in Annodex
  • list of things to do needed on wwww.annodex.net front page
    • Silvia will put it together
    • Shane will help

ACTION: Kfish to email Opera guys about oggplay plugin API
ACTION: Michael Dale to get back in contact with Mozilla guys
ACTION: Silvia to send plugin API to whatwg mailing list
ACTION: Silvia to contact Mozilla foundation about sponsorship
ACTION: Silvia to update web page with issues, etc.

6. Other business

  • Mime types - should we keep the annodex ones or conform to the new xiph ones?
  • is writing a purely PHP ogg media splitter feasible?
    • should be do-able
  • what's the status of mod-annodex?
    • one nasty bug needs fixing, other than that good
