Minutes

1. Approval of last meeting minutes

• approved by Silvia and Michael Dale

2. Action items review

• Shane: try to extract membership list from member_man's db, and set up a manual list
  • DONE: but also needs to be updated with the current mailing list subscriptions (ACTION: Shane)

• Silvia: Arrange meeting with CSIRO about hand-over of trademark, documents and source code
  • DONE: Silvia attended a CSIRO event where it was informally stated "that CSIRO wants to hand over the trademark and the source code copyright to us", but are lacking in time/resources to actually do that.

• Conrad to email Opera guys about oggplay plugin API
  • MODIFIED: Conrad reported prior to the meeting that he "[doesn't] really know the details of the current API", but that the issue is a difference between the HTML5 DOM api or JavaScript accessors provided by the liboggplay plugin. This action has been obsoleted (as per the whatwg action review below).

• Silvia to update web page with issues, etc.

• • NOT DONE

• Shane to email whatwg mailing list about APIs (consult with Conrad on #annodex)
  • MODIFIED: After a discussion about what is required here, it was decided that this is more of an advocacy effort so the action was renegotiated. ACTION: Silvia will initiate a discussion on this topic.

• Michael to make initial contact with Mozilla foundation about sponsorship
  • DONE: Positive initial contact was made, but communication has dried up since then. Also Silvia sent a follow-up email.

• Silvia to send Shane details about the xens
  • DONE

• Shane to send Silvia an SSH key
  • DONE

• Shane to move www.annodex.org and cmmlwiki to xen server with more memory THIS WEEK
  • DONE

• Silvia to move www.annodex.net to other xen server THIS WEEK
  • DONE

ACTION: Shane to update membership list with the current mailing list subscriptions
ACTION: Silvia to update web page with issues, etc.
ACTION: Silvia to initiate a discussion of the JavaScript API on WHATWG mailing list / IRC.

3. Treasurer's Report

• No change

4. liboggplay

• is released, and on the front page of www.annodex.net

After some discussion of the state of libraries, Shane outlined some plans for fixing bugs and bringing releases in sync with each other.

ACTION: Shane to draft a roadmap for library releases and integration and regression testing strategies.

5. Servers & Systems

• Silvia reported that the servers were successfully moved in June
• Shane mentioned that media.annodex.net is quite slow now
• Silvia reported that we are having real issues with drupal and mysql and apache breaking down, and that drupal needs an upgrade.

ACTION: Silvia to upgrade Drupal on www.annodex.net
ACTION: Silvia, Shane to investigate service problems

6. FOMS

• is progressing well.

(FOMS is run by a separate committee).

7. Other business

• Conrad suggested moving technical discussions to regular, open technical meetings.
  • There was general agreement that this is a good idea.

ACTION: Conrad to poll the list / IRC for an appropriate time to hold technical update meetings, and to kick them off.
